Building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.

About Habitat

Beginnings...

In 1976, Millard and Linda Fuller founded Habitat for Humanity International in Americus, Georgia. Habitat works in nearly 1,400 communities across the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries. The organization has helped more than 13 million people achieve strength, stability and independence through safe, decent and affordable shelter. Habitat for Humanity is a true world leader in addressing the issues of poverty housing.

Locally ~
Otsego County Habitat for Humanity (OCHFH) founded in September of 1993, is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International in Otsego County, Michigan. Our 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization has successfully placed 25 families in new energy-efficient homes over the past 25 years. To educate and encourage success with our future homeowners we offer Habitat Hope Financial Coaching, Habitat Learning Garden, and a Family Support Program. We also offer Aging in Place,  A Brush With Kindness, Critical Home Repairs, Weatherization, Veterans Services, Deconstruction, and Clean Outs.

Growing ~
In February of 2019, Antrim County Habitat dissolved their affiliate and we acquired their entity to help support our neighboring community. The Antrim Board of Directors left a strong foundation for us to build upon thus we will begin operating in the county in Fall of 2020. Our new name for both operations is Otsego-Antrim Habitat for Humanity.
